Please join us for a Panel Discussion of the Stock Dynamics Working Group on: J-REITs - Investors Attitudes and Perceptions.

The panel discussion will focus on the voice from investors as heard by industry participants:

  • Yuichi Hiromoto, president of Japan Retail Fund's management company, JRF Investment Corporation, who manage a listed J-REIT.
  • Angus McKinnon, former president of KK Prospect, who manage a private equity stage J-REIT.
  • Wayne Aoki, partner at Ernst and Young, leading tax advisors to J-REITs.
  • Rie Maruyama, real estate investment analyst at Goldman Sachs.

    Speakers Biographies:

    Mr. Hiromoto is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Asset Manager as well as Executive Director of the Fund and has over 20 years of business experience in a broad array of global positions within Mitsubishi Corporation, including Mitsubishi's Finance Department, Investment Banking and Financial Services Department and Mitsubishi Corporation's J-REIT joint venture initiative. Mr. Hiromoto has had working experience in the United States and London and, in his capacities as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Asset Manager as well as the Executive Director of the Fund, oversees JRF's strategic development as well as operations. Mr. Hiromoto received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tokyo University and a Masters in Business Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

    Mr. Aoki is a Tax partner of Ernst and Young LLP. He has over 8 years of experience in servicing clients in Japan, and is currently the partner-in-charge of Ernst & Young’s International Tax Services Division in Tokyo Japan. Mr. Aoki has over 20 years of public accounting experience in advising both U.S. and Japanese multinationals on international tax issues involving multinational mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, and international tax structuring.

    Mr. McKinnon has worked for Prospect Asset Management since 1997. KK Prospect was formed with capital from the president of Prospect Asset Management. Mr McKinnon became the president of this J-REIT company during formation, building the team and infrastructure. It now has 15 bln in hard assets under management. He was awarded a CFA from the Association for Investment Management and Research (AIMR) in September 2000. Angus received an MBA from the University of Hawaii and Management Certificate from the Japan-American Institute of Management Science (JAIMS) in 1995, and a BA from Murdoch University, Western Australia in 1987. Angus speaks fluent Japanese and Chinese.

    Ms. Murayama graduated with a BS from San Francisco State University. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs in 1993, she worked as a securities analyst at CS First Boston for four years. Rie is responsible for coverage of the Japanese real estate and housing sectors. She has been rated the number-one real estate analyst by Institutional Investor in four of the past six years.
