６月の株主総会を控えて、外人投資家による増配などをもり込んだ株主提案、株式買い増し請求などが話題になっておりますが、今回はコーポレートガバナンスのテーマとして、[株主アクティビズム]を取り上げ、株主アクティビズムと企業価値向上、バリュー投資、ヘッジファンド、Ｍ＆Ａとのかかわり、カルチャーとして日本で今後定着するか、などの観点より総合的に検討したと思います。
ダルトン・インベストメンツは米国ロスアンゼルスに本拠をもつ、バリュー投資を運用哲学としている、資産運用会社で、主に日本株式、中国株式などアジア株式を中心として、年金、金融機関、個人富裕投資家などを対象としたヘッジファンドなどを運用している。
Speaker:
慶応大学経済学部卒,日興證券ロスアンゼルス、ニューヨークにて日本株式関連業務に携わった後、日興アセットマネジメントにて株式運用業務を担当。２００２年より日本ＣＦＡ協会事務局長を務め、２００６年より、ダルトン・インベストメンツにてストラテジストとして日本株式の分析を行っている。

Outline
Before annual general meetings take place in June shareholder proposals by foreign investors, including dividend hikes, or demands for increased equity position are receiving increased attention. Before this background this corporate governance study session will be about "shareholder activism" in general. Coverage will include the general implications of shareholder activism also with regards to improvements in corporate value, value investments, hedge funds and M&A activities, as well as the question whether shareholder activism will become more rooted in Japan
Speaker
Mr. Hishikawa has been the strategist for Japanese value investments at Dalton Investments since 2006. Before that he served as chief of the CFA representative office in Japan, after having been active in equity fund management at Nikko Asset Management. He also held positions in Japanese equity investment at Nikko Securities in New York and Los Angeles. Mr. Hishikawa graduated from the Department of Economics at Keio University.
Dalton Investments is an asset management company specializing in value stock investments. It is headquartered in Los Angeles. It currently specializes in Asian equity markets, with the focus mainly being Japan and China. Dalton Investments also manages hedge funds for clients including pension funds, financial institutions and high net-worth individuals.
